In 2014 the Australian Government introduced the Child Dental Benefit Schedule (CDBS) which provides benefits for a range of dental health services to eligible children.
To be eligible children must be aged between 2-17 years and their family must receive the Family Tax Benefit A or relevant Government payment (see eligibility details here).
The CDBS provides $1,000 worth of dental services including examinations, x-rays, cleaning, fissure sealing, fillings, root canals and extractions. The value of $1,000 is accessible across a two year period for each eligible child.
If the full value of the child’s benefit is not expended within the first 12months of the two year period the remaining value can be taken in the next 12month period. Once the 24months has passed the $1,000 expires and if eligible the child receives another $1,000 in funding for a range of dental health services.
The great news is you can redeem your child’s Child Dental Benefit Schedule funds at Bowman Dental, with the highest quality of dental health care and eligible services.
To find out if your child is eligible for $1,000 in dental health services through the Child Dental Benefit Schedule, check the ServiceNSW CDBS webpage for advice on eligibility, range of services, how to claim funds and how to use the scheme.
Please contact our dental practice if you have any questions about dental health services you may be able to redeem for your child as part of the Child Dental Benefits Schedule.
