Tooth Whitening

Tooth whitening or bleaching of undamaged teeth is one of the most common procedures carried out in general dental practice and has been used in Australia for over 10 years.

Whilst there have been no identified medical or dental risks currently associated with tooth whitening we do have some concerns with smokers using whitening products due to possible interactions with carcinogens in tobacco products. Tooth whitening can bring a noticeable difference to teeth colour for at least two years. Existing fillings, including porcelain veneers and crowns cannot be bleached.
